Inspiration for my Primary Bedroom Refresh

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you know my home has been a work in progress since I moved in just over a year ago.

After months of off-and-on-house projects, I’ve decided to put contractor work on pause and instead take some time to focus on refreshing my interior decor. Creativity doesn’t always have to come in the form of a complete demo and instead can be smaller moments of refreshes here and there.

Primary Bedroom Inspiration

With that being said, I of course have a couple of ideas up my sleeve on what I would like to tackle throughout my home’s decor., and my primary bedroom is on the list! She is finally going to get the facelift she deserves! Oh, happy freaking day!

I’ve been slowly curating the cozy look I want to come to life, and after waiting out supply chain delays, furniture is starting to arrive! It’s slowly coming together and I couldn’t be more excited! Penny doesn’t seem to be minding the new threads either.

My biggest focuses when thinking through this primary bedroom update were:

  • Updating my aesthetic to more of a classic modern design and leaning less on the mid century design that I typically gravitate towards. I wanted my room to feel mature, warm and inviting.

  • Larger furniture pieces! I know at some point I am going to be upgrading my queen bed to a king, and with that means more pillows, larger nightstands, new bed frame and all around better furniture balance.

  • Did I mention cozy?! I want to style my bedroom so that it feels like an extension of me, and your girl LOVES to sleep. So…I’m learning all the tricks around pillow stacking, double comforters in one duvet cover, and the art of light reflection + paint colors + mix of materials. It’s all about leaning in to what feels good and rolling with the changes.

One thing I have to continue to remind myself throughout the process, is that small moments of progress can be celebrated just as much as the final product. I know that I’ve made a lot of updates to my room already, and more will be coming. However, I’m budgeting out my updates and being smart around my timing vs. focusing on a sprint to the finish line. So be sure to stay in touch and watch as my bedroom updates continue to unfold!
